This amazing house on the outskirts of Dalby is full of history and wonder. Jimbour house was built in 1876 and is considered to be one of the nation’s most gracious historical homes. From the website “Today heritage-listed Jimbour House remains a private residence with its interior open only for special events. Visitors are welcome to tour the grounds and magnificent gardens which are open daily for a donation upon entry. The garden entry donation includes access to the “Living History Walk” – an experience of historical plaques, sights and sounds that bring a rich and colourful heritage to life.

The grounds and Chapel (circa 1868) provide a stunning setting for weddings and the venue also caters for a wide range of functions and corporate events.” “Jimbour also holds a special place in Queensland and Australian history. When visiting our beautiful area be sure not to miss Lake Broadwater.

Stay an extra night and explore. Lake Broadwater Conservation Park, approx 20 min drive from Dalby is the only large, naturally-occurring freshwater lake on the Darling Downs and is home for waterbirds and other wildlife that seek refuge at the lake and surrounding vegetation.
The lake is popular for picnicking, walking and bird watching at any time of year; as well as power-boating, skiing, canoeing and swimming when conditions are suitable.
Visitors can stroll along the two kilometre track joining the two camping areas or take the five kilometre (return) self-guided drive.
