Kobbers Motor Inn, at the end of 2021, won two awards at the annual Dalby Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards Night.

We are very humbled, emotional and proud of receiving the awards as an acknowledgment of what we have achieved since moving to Dalby and taking on Kobbers Motor Inn. We love what we do!

Dalby is such a beautiful community with amazing businesses, both large and small. Congratulations to all other winners and finalists on the night.

If you are passing through stay at Kobbers Motor Inn for a night or two and explore our wonderful area. Visit Jimbour House. This amazing house on the outskirts of Dalby is full of history and wonder. Jimbour house was built in 1876 and is considered to be one of the nation’s most gracious historical homes. From the website “Today heritage-listed Jimbour House remains a private residence with its interior open only for special events. Visitors are welcome to tour the grounds and magnificent gardens which are open daily for a donation upon entry. The garden entry donation includes access to the “Living History Walk” – an experience of historical plaques, sights and sounds that bring a rich and colourful heritage to life.

The grounds and Chapel (circa 1868) provide a stunning setting for weddings and the venue also caters for a wide range of functions and corporate events.” “Jimbour also holds a special place in Queensland and Australian history. It was the property from which Ludwig Leichhardt commenced his famous trek across western Queensland to eventually arrive at Port Essington in the Northern Territory.” Take the time to enjoy the area of Dalby in the Western Downs.

Explore the Bunya Mountains Many people have been enjoying the wonder of the Bunya Mountains. When visiting our region take time to enjoy the surrounding area. Stay an extra night at Kobbers Motor Inn when passing through. It’s approximately a one hour drive from Dalby to the Bunya Mountains National Park.

Rainforest-clad peaks shelter the largest stand of ancient bunya pines in the world. Discover cool mountains, rainforests and waterfalls, unique range-top grasslands, panoramic views, colourful birdlife and enthralling stories of times long ago. Information thanks to The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service who acknowledges the ongoing connection Aboriginal people have with this special place, and asks that visitors treat the area with care and respect.

When visiting our beautiful area be sure not to miss Lake Broadwater.

Stay an extra night and explore. Lake Broadwater Conservation Park, approx 20 min drive from Dalby is the only large, naturally-occurring freshwater lake on the Darling Downs and is home for waterbirds and other wildlife that seek refuge at the lake and surrounding vegetation.
The lake is popular for picnicking, walking and bird watching at any time of year; as well as power-boating, skiing, canoeing and swimming when conditions are suitable.
Visitors can stroll along the two kilometre track joining the two camping areas or take the five kilometre (return) self-guided drive.

Our first blog is a quick introduction to Kobbers Motor Inn.

Kobbers is situated in the Queensland town of Dalby which is in the Darling Downs region of Queensland, Australia. Dalby is located approximately 210 kilometres west of the state capital, Brisbane, at the junction of the Warrego, Moonie and Bunya Highways. Kobbers Motor Inn is the perfect stopover offering all of your travel needs including comfortable clean rooms, restaurant to satisfy the hunger after a long day, laundry if you need to do some catch-up washing.

Dalby is the gateway to the Bunya Mountains for a great few days spent in amongst beautiful mountains, forests and waterfalls. Kobbers intends to keep you posted on what’s going on in Dalby and the surrounding areas.
